Missing in Action

As you can tell, I have been missing in action for a few months. I had a total knee replacement in April and boy that has been quite an experience. This past week I had a cornea transplant so it has been quite the year, but all is well now. I have been working on a few projects so I will try to get pictures taken and posted in the next few days. My sister has moved back to Utah so I am looking forward to crafting with her. I have a lot to lean about papercrafting. I intend to pick her brain. I hope that I can learn from her and that I might be able to teach her also. We have been spending time with family this summer so our craft time has been limited. You might like to check our her blog here.

New Dolls Finished

These are a few of my little dollies that I have been trying to finish. I have quite a few to get done so these are the first for this year. It is m y goal to get them done this year. I don't have any more space to display them, but I will finish them anyway. My house is packed with my babes. but they are fun to look at and enjoy. The little boy up above is a doll that I made a few years ago that reminded me of my grandson, Daniel , as a child. Daniel is 17 now.

This is Flossie. She is an adorable doll in her lavender dress with lots of ribbon embellishment. I absolutely love her expression and her lovely dark eyes.

I made a broken doll into this hat stand. The dolls head was mounted on a wooden stand then I decorated the doll and the stand. I think she turned out quite cute. She is one of two like this. I just couldn't throw this head away because her face is so lovely.

This little ballerina is not my doll, but I dressed her and I think that she is so cute. I hope that her owner will like what I have done with her. I dressed her in my favorite color. The dollmaker said that this doll is supposed to be her as a child so I hope she will be happy to see her.

Just a boring day

Don't have anything to add today, but I will have pics tomorrow. I have been working on completeing some of my unfinished projects this year. I have around 50 unfinished dolls so I thought that trying to complete as many of them as I can. I got 2 done today. I will post pics of them. When Kent passed away I lost my desire to finish them. I don't know why, but that is what happened. I am now tired of looking at them so I thought I had better get to work. So many things changed when I lost him it is hard to explain. Since then I have been trying to reinvent myself and boy it is hard. I continue to work on that part of my life. Just try to keep as busy as possible.

Erika's Blog

As you can all see I haven't posted in some time, but I hope that I will soon get back to making cards. I have been making chatalaines for my quilt group. As usual I made more than I really needed to make, but they made me happy while I was making them. It was fun to find fabrics from my stash and play with combinations. As you can see I found some really cute tiny scissors to put in the pouch. I hope that will enjoy them when they are doing their handwork, but since this is the beginning of my next years Christmas, they will have to wait until then. Each chatalaine has it's own personality just like my friends. They each make me smile because they are such cheerful colors. I have finished that project so I will getting on to other things. I am posting to let you all know about Erika's blog, taylordconcepts. If you have some time, stop by and take a look at all of her fun ideas.

My Cozy Home Card

This little card is a collaboration with my niece, Kaylene, my sis, Sue and I. My sister textured the white background . Kaylene cut out the silhouette with the Cricut using the cartridge " A Child's Year". I helped assemble the card. My photography doesn't highlight the embossed frame around the images very well, but the card really looks cute. I know the challenge is Cozy Home and I don't actually have a home here, but this image reminds me of my children bringing their tree to a cozy home. I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. I am so thankful for all of my blessings and for my health and that of my family. Enjoy

Button Button

This is a really simple card that I made to share with my quilt group. They are a God send to me. They have each helped me through some tough times and I really appreciate them. I am also sharing a picture of them that I took at our last quilt retreat. Thanks gals for all of your love and support.

I used a Stampin' Up stamp set called Quilt Quips. I think it turned out kind of cute and I hope that they will enjoy receiving them. My cards are really simple but I hope with practice that my skills will improve. This card is my part of the Gingersnap Creations button challenge. I am a button collector so this challenge was really fun for me.

Snowy Celebrations

I just got home from visiting my son, Adam, he lives in Mansfield, Mass. I came home to snow on the ground so I thought I would make a card for Crafty Creations metallic challenge. I used metallic paper for snowflakes. As it happens it works for monochromatic challenge for Gingersnap Creations. I used Stampin' Up Holiday Lineup stamp on white card stock the background is blue dot card stock from Lasting Memories. I punched out different snowflakes of different papers. I think the metallic snowflakes make my card really fun

I am also sending a picture of my granddaughter, Hayley, she is a senior in high school, and she is such a sweetheart. I don't get to spend enough time with her. I wish that we lived closer. I really miss spending time with Adam and his family.
