Halloween Fun!

I haven't posted for a few weeks because I have been making Halloween costumes for my family. First is my daughter-in-law, Lyndsey. I made her costume with dark brown felt then appliqued the design on the wings. Lyndsey and my son Josh wanted to dress their bull dogs as the flying monkeys. They are both very creative.

This is my interruption of the flying monkeys. First is Lola and then Lucie. The coats are made from felt and the hoods are made of black fur. I made the wings of felt with feathers . The tail is a wire armature covered with fur. I think they turned out so cute. I had so much fun figuring out how to make them.

As I was making the costumes Einstein was my model. He was absolutely mortified when I dressed him up, but I had to have a model . I hope that they all have fun trick-or-treating .

I will upload the pictures of my daughters family when she sends them to me. They live in Oregon. Hope you all have a spooky Halloween.

My Scrapbooks

Today I thought I would share my version of scrap booking. I am not a scrapbooker. My sister Sue is the master scrapbooker. She has made some beautiful scrap books. You can check out her blog here. She is also a great cardmaker. We both have been doing crafts together all of our lives. My faux scrapbooks are made using artist canvas. I painted them so that the backrounds were uneven. I used pictures of my husband and I as children then teens and then our wedding picture. I embellished them with wording and ribbons and some charms.
My children are spread out all over the country so I really enjoy looking at these pictures each day as I go in and out of my house. They are all married and have children of their own. My youngest hasn't started his family yet so I will love getting more grand children in the future.
Hope you have a great day

Tree Challenge

This is my submission to Scrappy Frogs Challenge here. It was made on green card stock the tree was cut to shape then strips of card stock were added with brads. Merry Christmas was stamped and glittered to as some sparkle. My cards are pretty simple compared to other in the group. I get so much inspiration from all of you. Thank you for sharing your talents with all of us.

Enjoy

Halloween Fun

For a bit of change of pace I thought I would post my Halloween centerpiece. I used a witches hat that I stuffed so that it would stand up. Had to use a thin piece of cardboard to cover hole in bottom of hat. Now the fun begins with lots of autumn leaves and some really beautiful copper and gold colored organza ribbon.

The more froufrou the better. That is my motto. Such fun!

Victorian Children

Victorian cards are so charming. I had these in my little stash. You might have guessed by now that my stash is not so small. Oh well, it is fun to collect silly things.

I wanted to use them in my home so that I could enjoy them everyday. I covered small canvases with satin then added the cards and embellished each picture with some of my collected dodads. I think they turned out especially cute. I used tiny bits of laces and frills.

I love how they look in my bathroom with all my other Victorian decorations. .
I love it when I get to use some of my odd charms. When you get going with the embellishments it is hard to stop so I just kept going. I used some of the buttons in my collection. My friends call me the froufrou queen because I love all of this stuff.
Have a beautiful day.

I'm Celebrating Today

Hip Hip Hooray for me today. I am having 2 little celebrations today. First, my oldest son Adam is having his 40th birthday. I can't believe it because I am not that old. Really!!

Second, I just finished my 50th baby quilt since April. Some are pieced and some are panels that have pieced borders. I have a longarm quilting machine and I am trying to learn how to use it. I am getting better at quilting. It has been fun creating 50 different quilts, but I am glad that I have finished them for now. I know that I will make more. Not sure what I am going to do with them yet. My grand kids will get some and I will probably donate some of them.

I hope you enjoy looking at my work. I loved making them. Enjoy and have a great day.
