My Cozy Home Card

This little card is a collaboration with my niece, Kaylene, my sis, Sue and I. My sister textured the white background . Kaylene cut out the silhouette with the Cricut using the cartridge " A Child's Year". I helped assemble the card. My photography doesn't highlight the embossed frame around the images very well, but the card really looks cute. I know the challenge is Cozy Home and I don't actually have a home here, but this image reminds me of my children bringing their tree to a cozy home. I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. I am so thankful for all of my blessings and for my health and that of my family. Enjoy

Button Button

This is a really simple card that I made to share with my quilt group. They are a God send to me. They have each helped me through some tough times and I really appreciate them. I am also sharing a picture of them that I took at our last quilt retreat. Thanks gals for all of your love and support.

I used a Stampin' Up stamp set called Quilt Quips. I think it turned out kind of cute and I hope that they will enjoy receiving them. My cards are really simple but I hope with practice that my skills will improve. This card is my part of the Gingersnap Creations button challenge. I am a button collector so this challenge was really fun for me.

Snowy Celebrations

I just got home from visiting my son, Adam, he lives in Mansfield, Mass. I came home to snow on the ground so I thought I would make a card for Crafty Creations metallic challenge. I used metallic paper for snowflakes. As it happens it works for monochromatic challenge for Gingersnap Creations. I used Stampin' Up Holiday Lineup stamp on white card stock the background is blue dot card stock from Lasting Memories. I punched out different snowflakes of different papers. I think the metallic snowflakes make my card really fun

I am also sending a picture of my granddaughter, Hayley, she is a senior in high school, and she is such a sweetheart. I don't get to spend enough time with her. I wish that we lived closer. I really miss spending time with Adam and his family.

Bloomin' Beautiful

Oh, what fun it is to color today. I made this card to send to my daughter today. The stamp I used is Bloomin' Beautiful from Stampin' Up. I used markers to color it. I like the way it turned out. I used velvet ribbon to embellish. The card stock is from Lasting Memories.
I hope you all had a great day today.
.My friend and I had a great day today. We went to a cowboy poetry festival . It was so fun to listen to these talented people relate stories about the Old West. There were also a lot of great cowboy music to enjoy. My husband loved cowboy music. I guess we would all like to be cowgirls and cowboys. Tomorrow I think I will make a cowgirl card for my friend. Finally a New Card

I am finally posting a new card. As I said in past posts I have been sewing up a storm for my family for Halloween. This card is really simple, but I love it because it incorporates two of my favorite colors, pink and green. I used a stamp set from Stampin' Up called "Time Well Spent". I love the look of the flower and the sentiment. I used card stock from Lasting Impressions. The green is especially fun because it is polka dot. I colored the flower with markers and cut it out I embellished the flower and the scallops with half pearls.

Halloween Fun!

I haven't posted for a few weeks because I have been making Halloween costumes for my family. First is my daughter-in-law, Lyndsey. I made her costume with dark brown felt then appliqued the design on the wings. Lyndsey and my son Josh wanted to dress their bull dogs as the flying monkeys. They are both very creative.

This is my interruption of the flying monkeys. First is Lola and then Lucie. The coats are made from felt and the hoods are made of black fur. I made the wings of felt with feathers . The tail is a wire armature covered with fur. I think they turned out so cute. I had so much fun figuring out how to make them.

As I was making the costumes Einstein was my model. He was absolutely mortified when I dressed him up, but I had to have a model . I hope that they all have fun trick-or-treating .

I will upload the pictures of my daughters family when she sends them to me. They live in Oregon. Hope you all have a spooky Halloween.

My Scrapbooks

Today I thought I would share my version of scrap booking. I am not a scrapbooker. My sister Sue is the master scrapbooker. She has made some beautiful scrap books. You can check out her blog here. She is also a great cardmaker. We both have been doing crafts together all of our lives. My faux scrapbooks are made using artist canvas. I painted them so that the backrounds were uneven. I used pictures of my husband and I as children then teens and then our wedding picture. I embellished them with wording and ribbons and some charms.
My children are spread out all over the country so I really enjoy looking at these pictures each day as I go in and out of my house. They are all married and have children of their own. My youngest hasn't started his family yet so I will love getting more grand children in the future.
Hope you have a great day
Kay

Merry Christmas was stamped and glittered to as some sparkle. My cards are pretty simple compared to other in the group. I get so much inspiration from all of you. Thank you for sharing your talents with all of us.

Halloween Fun

For a bit of change of pace I thought I would post my Halloween centerpiece. I used a witches hat that I stuffed so that it would stand up. Had to use a thin piece of cardboard to cover hole in bottom of hat. Now the fun begins with lots of autumn leaves and some really beautiful copper and gold colored organza ribbon.

The more froufrou the better. That is my motto. Such fun!

Victorian Children

Victorian cards are so charming. I had these in my little stash. You might have guessed by now that my stash is not so small. Oh well, it is fun to collect silly things.

I wanted to use them in my home so that I could enjoy them everyday. I covered small canvases with satin then added the cards and embellished each picture with some of my collected dodads. I think they turned out especially cute. I used tiny bits of laces and frills.

I love how they look in my bathroom with all my other Victorian decorations. .
I love it when I get to use some of my odd charms. When you get going with the embellishments it is hard to stop so I just kept going. I used some of the buttons in my collection. My friends call me the froufrou queen because I love all of this stuff.
Have a beautiful day.

I'm Celebrating Today

Hip Hip Hooray for me today. I am having 2 little celebrations today. First, my oldest son Adam is having his 40th birthday. I can't believe it because I am not that old. Really!!

Second, I just finished my 50th baby quilt since April. Some are pieced and some are panels that have pieced borders. I have a longarm quilting machine and I am trying to learn how to use it. I am getting better at quilting. It has been fun creating 50 different quilts, but I am glad that I have finished them for now. I know that I will make more. Not sure what I am going to do with them yet. My grand kids will get some and I will probably donate some of them.

I hope you enjoy looking at my work. I loved making them. Enjoy and have a great day.

Feeling Pretty Goofy

Kaylene, my niece, made this Goofy card using the Cricut. I think is is so cute and she is becoming a master at making these images with the Cricut, don't you think? He is such a fun guy and you can be goofy when you are with him.

LOL

We used orange and green matting for the backround and the sentiment on the inside says " Just goofin' around" . So cute!

Hello Kitty

My daughter-in-law is a fan of Hello Kitty so for her birthday I made this little tin and filled it with a variety of cards. My niece cut the image using my Cricut Expressions. She did a fantastic job. It looks really great and I think Lyndsey liked her box. We have had a lot of fun experimenting with the Cricut.I added a hot pink polka dot and black sheer ribbon bow. I used some silk flowers from my stash on the handle. The black paper backround is glittered and the ribbon is actually rick rack with tiny flowers.

Have a great day and thanks for the encouraging comments.

May May

I had the great pleasure to become a great grandmother a year ago. My little great granddaughter is such a lovely little girl and her personality is so cute. She is really funny and she delights everyone. She likes to wear hats and glasses. I love to make things for her so I will be adding pictures of her as I go along blogging. Her name is Maila, but we call her May May.
This is my puppy and my pal. His name is Einstein. When I first saw him his hair was quite long and he really looked like Einstein to me. He has the most fascinating eyes. They are a bit strange looking and they are a really pretty shade of blue. He is such a good little guy and he is great company for me. My grand kids love him too.

Little Pig Fairy

This little card is a tri-fold card that I made for my daughter-in-law. I have been collecting pigs for many years and I also absolutely love fairies. This pig fairy stamp was in my stash. I colored image using colored pencils and added diamond dust for the sparkle. Each of the tags in the pockets has a stamped sentiment. They could be used for bookmarks. I really like this tri-fold card. It is fun and easy to make.

Spooky Fun

This is Jackson, my grandson. He is 3 years old and what a joy he is. He is hugging my puppy, Einstein. Jackson changes so much in between my visits. Playing with him makes my life interesting and he keeps me feeling young. I love it!!!

It's almost Halloween so here is fun card to celebrate. I made a tag style card. I used a paper punch to make the fence and stamped the Boo and the houses with stamps in my stash. The card is purple so I just added a strip of orange and a strip of green at the bottom of the card.

This card was so much fun to make and I know that my little grandson, Jackson will love receiving it.
Here is a card that my niece and I made a few weeks ago. I used paper punches to make the flowers and butterflies. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up. I love sparkle so I added a few rhinestones in the flower centers. I know it's Fall but this card looks like Spring. My other favorite season.

As you know I am still pretty new to blogging so I will try this new post. I am hoping that my sis will be able to help me next week when she comes up for 3 days. I have a great desire to join the blogging world because it seems like it is great fun. I know that I need to dedicate time to the learning curve. I am really tech challenged so I hope that all of you longtime blogger will bear with me as I muddle through my learning process.

I had 2 family reunions this past weekend. It was so fun to be with family and catch up with their lives. We have a tradition to play games and I give silly prizes so I have some fun pics of my cousins. I will try to post them .

This is a double pocket card that my sister taught me how to make. I really enjoyed coloring the little girl that I stamped. I added some glitter to sparkle it up. I sent the card to my granddaughter who lives in Mass. and she really loved that card. I had to tell her to check the pockets for the money that I had sent her.

Busy summer days

I am finally writing another post. Things have been pretty hectic here this summer so I haven't been able to try this again since my sis went home to Las Vegas. While she was here we made a bunch of cards, as yet I am not sure how to post pictures, but I will figure that out soon, hopefully. My grandson has been here for about 6 weeks . We have been doing alot of golfing and movie watching. Since he went home I have just been trying to catch up with housework and yard work. I am also trying to prepare for a craft show in Oregon towards the end of August. I will try to post pictures of our cardmaking day tomorrow.
